The 4" Budget System for GM C/K1500 SUV's provides a mild lift height with a supple ride for use with 33" tall tires for the value minded enthusiast. Fabtech's replacement DOM upper tubular control arms feature heavy duty extended range ball joints that provide additional strength to the front suspension. The new ball joints provide unrestricted movement throughout the suspension travel range for smooth operation. On 4WD models the front differential housing is relocated to keep CV angles proper with the new ride height while a 1/4" thick steel skid plate protects the front diff. The rear lift comes from a 1 1/2" Coil Spacer system. This feature provides superior ground clearance at the frame as there are no torsion bars hanging down to become high centered on or damaged when offroading.. The 6 RTS(TM) system has been designed with unitized bracketry to retain the four front compression stops of the vehicle as GM intended. This distributes impact loads across a wide section of the frame rather than at a single point.High arched crossmembers and front differential skid plate are constructed of 1/4 thick steel to resist bending from hard front suspension impacts. Our 4 Ultimate System provides less lift than our 6 RTS(TM) system but still allows use of 33 or 35 tall tires with cutting for street and offroad use. We have developed this system utilizing replacement upper control arms constructed of 1.50 OD .120 thick wall DOM tubing that attaches to heavy duty Fabtech ductile iron steering knuckles. The factory torsion bars remain in the stock position and use new forged adjusting keys to provide the proper amount of lift. There is no loss of ground clearance with this system as the stock lower control arms, torsion bars and front differential do not need to be relocated. This 4 Ultimate System will level the stance of the vehicle compared to the factory nose down rake with no change to the rear suspension. The 4 Budget System utilizes the factory front coil springs with a steel upper spacer providing 4 of lift. Radius Arm drop brackets retain the factory arms with correct caster setting for the increase ride height. System includes a Trac Bar relocation bracket that has been designed to center the axle under the vehicle and still works properly with the factory Pitman Arm. This eliminates the need to replace the Pitman Arm resulting in a lower cost and faster installation time. Rear lift is accomplished with lift blocks and extended length u-bolts. The all new RTS (Raised Torsion Suspension) system utilizes patent pending torsion bar brackets that keep the torsion bars raised up, in the stock location. This feature provides superior ground clearance at the frame as there is no torsion bars hanging down to become high centered on or damaged when offroading. The RTS system has been designed with unitized bracketry reducing the installation time and providing increased strength. Our signature high arched crossmembers are constructed of 1/4in thick steel and feature tubular cross braces with a 1/4in thick steel front differential skid plate. The construction of the crossmembers, using 1/4in thick steel, is an important part of this system. Only 1/4in thick steel provides the rigidity and strength necessary to relocate the torsion bars, bump stops and lower control arms properly. Fabtech has performed rigorous on and offroad testing of this new RTS system to establish the proper bump stop engagement, torsion bar location and shock valving for a superior performing suspension system. The 8in Performance Suspension System is accomplished via one-piece cast drop down steering knuckles attaching to heavy-duty 1/4in thick, high arched lower control arm crossmembers with tubular upper control arms. Fabtech's combination of steering knuckle, high arched crossmembers and upper control arms provides an excellent ride quality with high ground clearance. This system will provide a true 8 inches of lift without adjustment to the torsion bars allowing the use of 37in tall tires. The front differential is properly relocated to eliminate front driveshaft vibration on 2001-06 vehicles with the stock driveshaft. On late model 2007-08 vehicles with Magna 1625 transfer cases the system requires the use of a CV front driveshaft to address high speed 4WD use. New tubular upper control arms fit into the stock frame pockets using urethane bushings. Upper control arms include double shock mounting tabs for integration with Fabtech's optional front dual shock hoop system. The front suspension is completed with an differential skid plate, tubular crossmember supports and impact struts while the torsion bar drop down brackets properly align the torsion bars to the relocated stock lower control arms. The rear suspension is lifted using a 4'' block kit with 2'' add a leafs.
